Set in a beautiful rural area, but within a short walk of the coast (nearest beach at Broadsands just over a mile) and the river Dart Creek, this delightful cottage offers very comfortable accommodation for 3/4 people. It has a double and a single bedroom upstairs with bathroom. The downstairs accommodation is spacious with open plan living and looks out onto peaceful views of the countryside. The small and friendly village of Galmpton is within a 5 mins walk and offers shops and a pub/restaurant. Pets by arrangment.
The accommodation is very comfortable and cosy whilst keeping the original feel of the cottage with turning wooden staircase, open stone walls, beams etc. The open plan kitchen is modern and well equipped with dishwasher, microwave and electric oven/hob. The beds are high quality and very comfortable. For extra sleeping space there is a sprung sofa bed in the living area. For in house entertainment SKY TV, DVD player, mini disc/radio player, games and books. The master bedroom is equipped with Freeview/video. Linen and towels are provided. Night storage heaters for chilly days. Pets are welcome and there is a huge garden to the rear with BBQ area and several sitting areas on separate levels. Although shared with the owner there is ample room for privacy. The owner is resident next door and offers use of washer/dryer in the main house' utility room with its own separate entrance.

Local activities in and around Brixham, South West
Set on the border of South Hams and Torbay the area offers fantastic opportunities for both rural and nautical/river Dart activities as well as easy access to Dartmoor. The historic town of Brixham is within 3 miles and the medievel market town of Totnes (popular for shopping) is within a 15 mins drive. Nearby Dartmouth offers a vast range of nautical activity as well as easy access to some of the most beautiful beaches in the area. The seaside towns of Torquay and Paignton are within a short drive. The whole area is famous for its outstanding natural beauty and magnificent coastal walks and offers something for everyone. Within a short drive of the cottage is The National Trust Greenway Gardens overlooking the River Dart and holiday home to Agatha Christie throughout her life. The restored house will open in March 2009. A few minutes from the gardens a passenger ferry will take you across the river where you can enjoy views of the river activity from The Ferry Boat Inn at Ditisham. A bell summons the ferry back for the return journey delighting the children as well as the wonderful crabbing opportunities off the small pier. Very popular also are the many wonderful river cruises from Totnes and Dartmouth, and the steam railway is a must.
There is a nearby Golf course and plenty of activities for children including beaches, marine parks and go kart tracks, etc. There are beaches nearby that allow dogs during the high season, and many doggie walks along costal paths to small coves.
