Le Palmier is a large 4 bedroom detached farmhouse, offering luxury accommodation including air conditioned bedrooms & a huge 12 x 6 meter heated swimming pool specifically designed and built with children's enjoyment in mind. It has a safety fence & lockable gates.
Le Palmier is just a 2 minute stroll to a lively village offering cafes/bars & restaurants and only an 8 minute drive to wonderful 'Blue Flag' sandy beaches - ideal for the kids. In the sitting room you'll find a projector home cinema displayed on a motorised screen with the full sky packages including: movies, children’s & sports. Plus 24hr internet access, an iPod docking station & a Wii console with interactive family games.
We specifically cater for families with children - We have an extensive library of books, lots of children's board games and toys from dressing up clothes to train sets, building blocks, dolls house & a huge library of children’s videos.
The large sitting room has a home cinema projector TV displayed on a huge motorised screen with the full sky packages including: movies, children’s & sports. For the little ones - You will find train sets and dressing up clothes with princess slippers & shoes to keep them entertained as well as lots more toys, videos, DVD's, books. We also have ADSL via Wi-Fi access & an iPod docking station.
Le Palmier has 4 bedrooms - 2 masters, 1 triple bedroom & 1 bunk room - The vast master bedroom has a 4 poster wrought-iron king size bed with an en-suite Jacuzzi bathroom. The second master also has a 4 poster double bed with a door leading out to the gardens and pool area. All double beds have luxurious mattress toppers for maximum comfort. The large triple bedroom has three single beds in it and is able to convert to a good size double if required for more than 4 adults sharing. The bunk bedroom has an en suite shower room, with hand basin and WC. A family bathroom with a separate shower & 3rd WC is also in the property.
The very well equipped kitchen has patio doors which open onto a south-west facing eating terrace. It has a 5 burner range cooker, a dishwasher, microwave, washing machine, 2 x fridge/freezers. You will also find kitchen essentials like washing up liquid, dish clothes, bin bags, kitchen foil, cling film, kitchen towels & salt & pepper grinders at your disposal. A few less items to pack & always appreciated.
The 12 x 6 meter swimming pool is surrounded by 180m2 of decking with lots of sunloungers. The pool has a large terrace & an additional raised decked area, which is shaded by a large walnut tree. Here there are café-style tables & chairs, a great place for the kids to play out of the sun.
The shade of the wrought iron gazebo on your terrace area gives a welcome break from the midday sun, it is also the perfect spot to relax & enjoy the views of the pool & the beautiful gardens, as lunch is served!

For wheel chair users, we have a property called La Pergola which has two bedrooms (one master and one twin) on the ground floor so is ideal for children needing to be near their parents.

Le Palmier is only a 2 minute stroll from the centre of Angles, which has a large street market on both Wednesday and Sunday mornings - an excellent opportunity to sample much of the locally produced food, including cheese, meat, fish and wine.
In the summer months Angles organises special events in the square including fun days, evening entertainers, jazz and blues nights, firework displays and night markets. You can sit with the locals and enjoy 'moules & frites' listening to a band watching the kids dance to their hearts content.
Located so close to the village, you can either take a leisurely walk down in the morning to pick up your fresh baguette and croissants, or stroll down in the evenings to a choice of great restaurants. You don’t have to load all the kids in the car (plus all of the equipment that comes with having a family) to have a great meal.
The village has its own Office de Tourisme, as well as a post office, two banks, a hairdresser, a beauty salon, an aromatherapist, a pharmacy, five cafés/bars and four restaurants. There are also two supermarkets, two butchers, a fishmonger and a fruit & vegetable shop.
The large fishing port of l'Aiguillon is just 10 minutes away. Early risers can choose from a range of freshly-caught fish, mussels, oysters, langoustine and gambas at the town's fish market which is open every weekday at 5am. Those who prefer a lie-in can sample the seafood later in the day at one of the many wonderful fish restaurants in the town.
As each of our three gites are within the same grounds, they can be rented separately or together for large family or friends holidaying together.
La Rochelle - Aquarium
Both children and adults will enjoy La Rochelle's wonderful Aquarium, which boasts 10,000 specimens from the Atlantic, the Mediterranean and the tropics. With three million litres of water and 64 different aquariums, you are bound to see Nemo!
Marked trails in the forest up to 20ft high give you up to 122 different challenges. You are suspended by safety harnesses and are able to climb, swing, dismount and even slide across the forest. Great area for toddlers too, with themed bouncy castles, ball park, rock climbing, inflatable park, trampolines, swings, slides, ropes and pony rides to name but a few! Excellent day out for the children and for adults and only 5 minutes away, Great fun and highly recommended.

Puy du Fou is where time stands still - take a journey through 2,000 years of history. You will see villages from different eras, gladiators still doing battle, Vikings launching attacks on fortified castles and jousting knights plus a 1900 market town and a 18th Century Village. In the summer, there are 28 evening/night shows with 300 fireworks per show, 2000 digitally-controlled projectors, 1500 computerised fountains, 4500 costumes and many more special effects. There are minstrels in the heart of the woods and master falconers in the meadows. This huge area covering 40 hectares will be an instant hit with children and adults alike.
The beach at La-Tranche-sur-Mer (10 minutes away) has a 6-hectare area of water for water sports. The "Cercle Nautique Tranchais" (CNT) offers sailing, windsurfing, kite-surfing and sand-sailing. The area is also superb for boating and surfing enthusiasts
The famous city of La Rochelle is just 45 minutes away. Explore the chic shops or watch the world go by from one of the many trendy bars or bistros. And after an exhausting morning's shopping, you can look forward to a leisurely lunch in one of the mouth-watering seafood restaurants which overlook the port.
You can enjoy two types of fishing - On the freshwater rives upstream from the lock gates at Moricq (5 mins away), you can try for pike, perch, carp, bream and other bleak. You will need a licence which can be purchased at our office du tourism.
Or you can fish in the saltwater reaches of the Lay, from the gates of Moricq to the mouth of the river which is subject to maritime regulations, so you can fish free of charge, for grey mullet, eels and plaice.

Winter lets are welcome from Mid October through to Mid April each year at a price of 1300 Euros per month and are based on one family sharing. Luxury 100% cotton bed linen is supplied within the price, as well as bath towels and bathroom hand towels. Large 100% cotton beach towels are also for hire.
