Situated in the heart of the Saumur region's vineyards, Domaine des Vignes is a collection of luxury cottages with heated Swimming Pool, offering contemporary self-catering accommodation & a peaceful, secluded base from which to explore the beautiful Loire Valley.
Our cottages have been thoughtfully restored to combine traditional character features such as tuffeau stone fireplaces & beams with all modern facilities such as satellite tv, stereo, dvd players & central heating throughout.
Cottage named "Saumur" is bungalow style, and has five bedrooms, three with double beds, and two with two single beds. A family property - sleeps ten and has its own large private garden, BBQ and garden furniture, and is located next to the Heated Pool. Domaine des vignes is located within an easy drive from the airport at Tours (the capital of Touraine), located just thirty miles east of Vernoil.
Domaine des Vignes is a safe environment for children, with secure gates & fencing surrounding the property, and cars are not allowed into the garden/courtyard area. The pool area is safely fenced according to current French law, which means children cannot access the pool area without the assistance of an adult to open the "child proof" gate - sometimes the adults have trouble working it out too !!!!
Guests are free to explore our vineyard and woodland that surrounds the gites, and relax and take a lazy lunch at the pic-nic tables in the dappled shade of the chestnut trees, from where you can often see wild boar, deer, pheasent and many other forms of wildlife.
All guests receive a complimentary welcome pack on arrival which includes fresh free range eggs (from our own hens!), fresh baked bread, milk, tea & coffee etc. So that your holiday begins as soon as you arrive, we offer a first shop service which means all your grocery requirements will be ready and waiting for your arrival (additional cost).
Bike hire is available for the whole family to explore the unspoilt country-side, vineyards, orchards & forest paths which are right on the doorstep. We also offer guided wine tours of the region. Let us do the driving so that you can enjoy the "tasting" ! A baby sitting service is available on request. We are also pleased to share our knowledge of the region to help you make the most of your holiday!

At Domaine des Vignes you will find a wide variety of interesting towns & villages on your doorstep. Vernoil provides all necessary amenities - you will find a Boulangerie, Boucherie, Pharmacie, post office and several small, typically French bars. There is also a small supermarket on the edge of the village. Saumur is approximately 30 minutes drive from Domaine des Vignes & has many shops, restaurants, theatres, bars & historic buildings, as well as the magnificent Château de Saumur.
The Loire Region has much to offer, from a gentle stroll through countryside to exploring the history & attractions of the surrounding towns. Abbeys, cathedrals, museums, gardens & troglodyte caves are all within reach. The region is ideal for wine enthusiasts with its many vineyards & celebrated wines. For the more adventurous, the diverse landscape of rivers, hills, woodland & caves lends itself to a variety of outdoor activities. The river & lakes accommodate a range of water sports such as sailing, canoeing or swimming. For those keen on cycling, walking or horse riding, there are many paths & routes through the forests to follow.

Please note tha guests are expected to leave the property in the state of cleanliness in which they find it. We will be pleased to clean the property for you for a one off charge of 40 euro's.
