Situated right in the heart of a well known South Vendee village, this house lets you join in the pleasures of French village life.
The village has a bar, auberge, restaurant and award winning boulangerie. You can follow the Mareuil Wine Trail, enjoy the miles of safe sandy beaches, soak up as much culture as you can take - and all before relaxing in the large swimming pool!

Les Lauriers, a working farmstead until recently, consists of the Farmhouse, which the owners lived in, and the Grandparent's house, Laurier Rose, which has been refurbished and refitted throughout. Outside, a large swimming pool has been installed.
Accommodation on the ground floor includes a double bedroom, with a comfortable kingsize bed. A large wood-paneled Lounge/Diner, a lounge, two fully fitted kitchen/Diners, a huge Arriere cuisine, a shower room, a bathroom and two separate toilets. Ample cutlery, crockery and cookware are provided. Upstairs, there are 2 double and 4 twin rooms, a bathroom and toilet.
Outside, is the pretty garden and outdoor eating area, which has tables and chairs as well as plenty of play space, shaded and undercover parking, the large swimming pool and space to play boules!
Located between Lucon, La Roche sur Yon and La Rochelle there is as much culture and experience as you can possibly fit into a holiday! Further afield, but well worth a visit, are the lovely cities of Nantes and Poitiers. Nor will you be bored for lack of activity, should you so desire, it is simply a paradise for walkers, cyclists and bird watchers. For golf enthusiasts, there is a fabulous choice of courses, including La Domangere - the toughest course in France.
All along the coast are watersports facilities, oysters and mussels fresh from the boats, miles and miles of sandy beaches with lifeguards and all within 15 minutes. There are museums, activity parks, chateaux, nature reserves, but then you might just prefer an afternoon in the pool and an evening barbeque!

Within easy walking distance are, a bar, a restaurant, an Auberge Gastronomique, an Award winning boulangerie, a Chateau and the magnificent Parc Floral.
The heritage and architecture in towns like Lucon and La Rochelle can be breath-taking - as can some of the bloody history, after all, Cardinal Richelieu was an adopted son of the town of Lucon. All sorts of sports are available nearby from parachuting to wind-surfing. We will happily investigate any specific requirements for you. The sailing centre of France is up the road in Les Sables d'Olonne, from where the Vendee Globe competitors set sail.
Also in the same town is a lovely Zoo where you can see a wonderful range of animals while being shaded from the sun by the canopy of trees. If you prefer the Deep, by the old Port in La Rochelle, is a spectacular sea-life aquarium.
