Dolphin Cottage, on the edge of the conservation village of Freshford, offers top quality accommodation. Still retaining a number of period features, the cottage has been renovated to exceptional standards. The cottage has three bedrooms and sleeps a maximum of 5 people. Outside the peak holiday periods, there are reduced rental charges for two or three people renting the cottage. The cottage has full, guest-controlled, gas fired central heating The rental charges include all heating, electricity, hot water, bedroom and kitchen linen and towels and basic commodities such as dishwasher powder, loo paper etc. The cottage is fully WI-FI enabled and there is also a fixed computer giving guests full internet access.
Dolphin Cottage is always kept to very high standards of decoration and cleanliness - a specific point noted by the Inspector from English Tourism in his report on the cottage. Children of all ages are welcome at the cottage.
The low ceilinged, beamed sitting room has an inglenook fireplace with a wood burner stove and is furnished to a very high standard with a mixture of modern designer furniture and antiques. There is a widescreen TV, video player, DVD player and stereo radio/CD player. A fully tuned upright piano sits in one corner - there is even sheet music available! The kitchen is fully equipped with all appliances and good quality matching china, cutlery and glasses. The dining table is in one corner of the kitchen with wonderful view over fields to the village church of Limpley Stoke.
The double bedroom has a king sized bed and there is also a twin bedroom and a single bedroom which has its own vanitory unit. All the beds are Relyon pocketed spring beds and have egyptian cotton linen and duvet covers. The fully tiled luxury bathroom has a full size bath with a power shower over and there is a second lavatory on the ground floor.
The cottage has its own private south west facing garden equipped with garden furniture. Ample off road parking is available for guests. Unfortunately no pets are allowed at the cottage and smoking is only allowed in the garden.
The village of Freshford lies in the picturesque Limpley Stoke valley. Walking is a delight in the surrounding area and the nearby city of Bath is easily accessible for shopping and entertainment. There are several National Trust properties within an hour's drive as well as the historic cities of Wells and Glastonbury. Longleat, Stonehenge and the Cotswolds are close by.
