Local activities in and around Penzance, South West
Miles of wonderful cliff top walks along some of the most breathtaking sections of the famous South West Coast path. The wild moors with their ancient sites and standing stones. Many individually stunning sandy beaches and coves all within a few miles, good surfing and fishing. Mousehole, so quaint and compact, just 2 miles away. St Michael's Mount, with its castle, the jewel in Mounts Bay, just across the bay. Walk over the causeway at low tide or take a boat.
The Minack Theatre, built into the cliffs above Porthcurno. The Tate Gallery, set amongst the winding streets of St Ives, 8 miles away. Many galleries and craft shops here. Penzance, a busy market town is the main centre, just 2 miles away. From here you could take a day trip to the incredible Isles of Scilly. 38 miles away. 20 mins by helicopter or 2 hrs 45 mins by sea. The popular Eden Project is a little over an hour's drive. Many Cornish Gardens open to the public, incl. Trengwaignton, Trewidden, Heligan, Trebah, Trevarno.
