The Rowans - Warm, well-equipped. Isolated, yet near Gairloch
House with 3 Bedrooms, Sleeps 6, Garden
Just a short stroll from the sea, this detached Nordic-style house boasts great views and is equipped with every modern convenience. It's a private family house, with every item left out for guests to enjoy.
Nestling in a tranquil setting, the house lies close to Gairloch with its award-winning restaurants, pubs and visitor attractions.
Unusually, Gairloch is open and thriving all year round (although a few attractions and restaurants do shut over the winter). Local activities include walking, golf, sailing hire (and tuition), fishing, climbing and bird-watching - otters, golden eagles and sea eagles are seen regularly. Boat trips to the Shiant Isles with the massive puffin colony are a must (in season). Dolphin, porpoise (from shore or boat) and whale watching (particularly Minke whales) are all available.

Gairloch Local Guide
Good round-up of local facilities and businesses. Everything from bike hire to Inverewe Gardens.
The best whale watching in Scotland. Run by local whale and bird expert, Nick Davies. He runs short and long cruises and is expert at finding Minke (& other less frequent species) whales, dolphins (mostly common & bottlenose), porpoises. He also runs bird cruises to the Shiant Isles and fishing trips (from mackerel to specimen skate hunting).
