A superbly refurbished, charismatic ancient cottage in a central, but quiet location overlooking the High Street in the centre of Tenterden with the added benefit of nearby off-street parking. This fully modernised and renovated character cottage has wealth of original oak beams throughout, huge inglenook fireplace with woodburning stove and a quiet and pretty enclosed cottage garden to the rear.
The historic Cinque Ports town of Tenterden is an ideal location for summer holidays or cosy winter breaks with many restaurants, tea-shops, antique shops, the Leisure centre and famous Steam Railway all within a short walk from the cottage. Rye is a mere 20 minute drive with a choice of historic houses, castles and gardens within the region.
Entrance to the cottage is via front garden and porch and then directly into the very pretty living room. Tiled flooring with rugs, large inglenook fireplace with woodburning stove (logs provided), two comfortable sofas, coffee tables, colour TV with DVD player, CD player, plus table with chairs, soft lighting and pretty ornaments and pictures.
Step through to the kitchen, again tiled flooring, modern beech wall and floor units, full size gas cooker, slimline dishwasher, automatic washing machine/dryer and combination oven/microwave, and secreted in the understairs cupboard is the fridge/freezer, iron and board and clothes airer. The kitchen is very well equipped with good standard crockery, utensils and and cookware with matching stainless steel accessories.
A doorway closes off the carpeted stairs to the upper floors:Tthe spacious and very attractive master bedroom which overlooks the front garden, has a double bed with brass bedstead, bedside tables with lamps, antique dresser with mirror, colour TV/video and range of fitted wardrobes and shelves plus an open decorative fireplace.
Adjacent to the master bedroom with rear outlook is located the family bathroom with bath which has a hand shower over, washbasin in a vanity unit, WC and mirror with shaver light over plus airing cupboard - there is a low beam here.
Accessed by a second staircase is the pretty attic style twin bedroom, furnished in pine with wardrobe, bedside tables with lamps, chest of drawers, colour TV/video and Velux windows for additional light. Again there are low beams. The stairs are steepish with handrails.
Accessed from the kitchen is the very prettily planted, enclosed garden with patio areas, garden table, chairs and built-in barbecue for guests' use. Nearby parking is available plus 1 hour parking available in the High Street.
