Chris and David Jones welcome you to the Potting Shed in the village of Wormhill. This delightful detached cottage is situated in the heart of the Peak District National Park. It is located privately within the half acre grounds of the owner's property.
The property was originally the potting shed for the orangery of Hargate Hall, built around 1900. The original grounds of Hargate Hall are now split into four properties, standing on their own at one end of the small hamlet of Wormhill. The cottage and its garden command spectacular views across the hills of the Peak District towards Mam Tor.
Enjoy an away from it all holiday with peace and quiet, yet with easy and quick access to local towns.
The non-smoking accommodation is all on one level and comprises a small entrance hall, open plan living room and kitchen, two bedrooms and bathroom. Quality solid wood furntiure is provided throughout.
The kitchen is fully equipped and contains a full size oven, a microwave oven, a dishwasher and fridge with freezer compartment. The living area has a colour television and video recorder, radio and CD player. A log burning stove adds to the cosy atmosphere.
Bedroom 1 has a double bed, while bedroom 2 has adult size bunk beds. The bathroom has a bath with shower over.
Laundry facilities are available in the utility room at the rear of the cottage (shared with the owner).
Double glazing and central heating are provided throughout. Electricity and gas are included in the price and bedding and towels are provided free of charge. A cot and highchair are avaialable on request. (Please bring your own cot bedding)
The cottage has its own private garden with decking area, garden furniture and barbecue. You can enjoy your dinner along with the beautiful view.
Dogs are welcome for an extra charge of £10.
On your arrival you will be greeted by a vase of fresh flowers and refreshments to relax you after your journey. All essentials, such as washing up liquid, toilet tissue etc. are provided for your convenience.
The cottage is available all year round, whether you want a long break or a short get away.
Special packages are available for Valentines, birthdays, anniversaries etc. at an extra charge. Christmas and New Year packages are included in the price.

Local activities in and around Buxton, Heart of England
The area offers countless opportunities for walkers with miles of footpaths across unspoilt countryside. The energetic can climb Mam Tor,where on a good day you can watch the hang gliders soar from the top, or you could tackle Kinder Scout.
Enjoy a more gentle walk by the river at Millers Dale along the Monsal Trail or visit the pretty village of Castleton with its numerous caves and caverns, including the famous Blue John Mine. Visit the Ladybower Reservoir where the Dambusters tested Barnes-Wallis' famous bouncing bomb, or visit the pretty Goyt Valley.
The picturesque village of Tideswell (2 miles)) offers the nearest shopping facilities and its centrepiece is the Church of John the Baptist, the Cathedral of the Peak. The spa town of Buxton is approximately 4 miles away, with its delightful Pavilion Gardens and the Buxton Opera House which offers a variety of live entertainment all year round. The market town of Bakewell is appropximately 8 miles away, where you can enjoy a leisurely stroll by the River Derwent and visit the local shops, including the famous Bakewell Pudding Shop. Visit the historic village of Eyam where the Great Plague first started and where the brave villagers quarantined themselves.
If you enjoy visiting stately homes then visit Chatsworth House, the home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire, or Haddon Hall one of the finest Mediaeval and Tudor houses in the country.
The area is renowned for thre tradition of Well Dressing, and from May through to September you can find a village where you can watch and even join in this age old tradition. The event always culminates with the Blessing of the Well and is often accompanied by carnivals and torchlight processions.
Finally for the young at heart, the famous theme park, Alton Towers is only an hour away.
