The cottage is much higher than the the river, so it can never get flooded. The ground floor has a comfortably furnished sitting-room with attractive Victorian fireplace [ basket of logs provided ] French windows opening on to a vine-covered terrace with pretty pergola.
The dining room, with antique French wood- burning stove, seats up to 8 people. Good sized kitchen with double electric oven with hob, extractor fan, double sink, dishwasher, fridge, freezer and microwave. Separate WC and cloakroom.
Upstairs; Bathroom and four bedrooms, all with built-in cupboards. One double 4' 6” with window seat and view of river. 1 twin bedded 2'6”, 1 single 3' with river view and a further single 2' 6” with basin. This room leads through to a utility room with washing machine, tumble-drier and sink. Towels and bed linen provided.
A door at this level opens on to the car parking area for easy access with luggage.
One well-behaved pet welcome. Please provide own bowls, towel, basket etc.
For the safety of young children there is a lockable gate on the terrace and the garden has a fence along the riverbank.

Because the cottage is built on several levels it is not particularly suitable for the very elderly or infirm.

Interesting walks including the Ridgeway, birdwatching and wildflowers, Savernake Forest and West Woods [famous for the bluebells in Spring] Many sites of historical interest including Stonehenge and Avebury. Farmer Giles' farm with many animals to enjoy + children's playground, bouncy castle and tea-room.
Open houses and gardens such as Stourhead and Wilton. Nearby towns of interest include Salisbury, Bath and Marlborough. Excellent local shop Upavon, 1 mile and further shopping and mainline station in Pewsey, 5 miles. Pick-your-own farm and garden centre.
