Albufeira is spread out rather than high-rise. The town itself consists of "old" and "new" sections which merge seamlessly into an extensive holiday-land suburbia, spreading off back east along the coast to Balaia, Olhos d'Agua and Falesia, and west to São Rafael, Galé and the links golf course at Salgados. The whole area, greater Albufeira you could call it, is the most tourist-intensive place in Portugal.
It has very little to do with the real Portugal, or with the real planet earth for that matter, but people come here in droves and have the time of their lives. The main town of Albufeira is around a 15 minute walk. The Infamous Strip is just 200 meters away. Lots to do in the area including 5 water parks , Zoo-marine dolphin park , crazy world , excursions , jeep safaris , golf courses by the dozen.

"The room was very big and spacious. The walk to the strip is about 5-10mins depending on the speed you walk. The beach is a bit of a hike but you can use the hotel bus or get a cab to it for just 4euros! The hotel staff were friendly and great fun. Great restaurant we found was called RESTAURANT LEAO. "Excellent well equpiped rooms. Loads of choice for places to eat, would recommed the restaurants in in Albuferia rather than Montechoro strip - simply catch the trolley bus which is 3 euro for for a return, runs every 20 mins from the strip.
