Moulin des farges sits in a beautifully tranquil valley surrounded by streams & waterfalls.
The 7 acre grounds comprise of a 2 acre trout lake, swimming pool and sun terrace, gardens all with pleasant areas to sit, totally private and secluded offering a fantastic holiday retreat for those looking for peace and quiet, a perfect place for cyclists, walkers and nature lovers.
The Dordogne river offers great water sports, the scenery is outstanding and gives great inspiration to photographers and painters alike.
We offer self catering accommodation in our restored Watermill. It has a tranquil lakeside setting and sleeps 4 -6, tastefully decorated and with quality furnishings.
We also offer 4 luxury ensuite B & B rooms. Prices start from 80 euros per room per night.
Evening meals are available on request both for our self catering customers as well as our B&B customers.
Our delightful detached Watermill is situated adjacent to our trout lake where you can enjoy fishing on the bank or out in the boat or just sitting by the lake looking out to the magnificent Viaduct, a local tourist attraction situated at the end of the lake.
Our guests have full use of the swimming pool, decking area around the pool and sun terraces which are equiped with sun loungers, parasols and chairs. There are many places to explore around the grounds.
For those who like a shady place to sit we also have a large pergola and many other areas in which to relax.
The Watermill comprises of: Ground floor - a large lounge with open fire, separate dining room with ample space for 6, a well equipped kitchen with all mod cons, and a separate W.C.
First floor - a large landing leading to one double bedroom, one twin bedroom and a large bathroom.
There is a private garden with table, chairs, parasol and BBQ facilities.
Within a five minute drive is a large public lake with water sports edged by a beautiful clean sandy beach and children's play areas.
The attractive market town of Meymac is 3 kms away and is recommended in many guides as a place worth visiting. It has all the amenities you will need.
The Correze has 6 of France's most beautiful villages, all accessible from Moulin Des Farges and for those skiing enthusiasts Mont Dore which provides excellent seasonal skiing is just 45 minutes away.

Central Heating, House Linen, Towels Provided. Gas central heating is available when you require it, there are radiators in all rooms. You pay for what you use. We are happy to cater for large party's using our self catering and B & B facilities.

Local activities in and around Meymac, Limousin/Auvergne
At Moulin des farges: Fishing for trout, perch on our private lake ( no licence required). Swimming in the pool and relaxing on the pool terrace & gardens. Use of the small boat on the lake.
Within a 5 minute drive:
Equestrian centre with very reasonable rates.
Lac Seychemille - a large public lake with sandy beach (overlooked by life-guards in season) ideal for swimming and watersports ie Sailing and canoeing. It also has a restaurant overlooking the lake as well as a childrens play area.
The beautiful town of Meymac - is featured in the Michelin guide as a place worth stopping for. It has prestigious old houses owned by the vintners of Meymac in years gone by, cobbled streets, an ancient church, bars, shops, restaurants and it's very own contemporary Art Museum which features modern art exhibitions. Ruin des Cars - an ancient Roman ruin is set in the national park.
Within a 30 - 45 minute drive: 2 Chateaux to visit - Chateau de Val. Chateau de Sedieres.
Correze has 6 of Frances most beautiful villages - Beaulieu sur Dordogne, Turenne, Collonges la Rouges, St Robert, Treignac, Curemonte. All worth a visit for their beauty and heritage.
Ski-ing - for all abilities at Le Mont Dore. A well equiped resort with 82 snow machines, 33 ski lifts and cable cars.The season starts in December.
There are 4 Golf courses within the area which are open all year.
The river Dordogne -offers many water sport activities ie: kayaking, canoeing as well as sailing. Adventure parks - 2 are located in the area that offer trails through the tree tops.
Within a 60 minute drive: The city of Limoges - famous for its porcelain production and its 2,000 year history.
Oradour sur Glane - a memorial to those who lost their lives following an SS masacre in the village of Oradour. The village has been left excactly as it was. A moving experience.
Follow signs to Meymac. Look for signs towards Viaduc Des Farges on the D109. Keep on this road, over the railway and on until you go under a bridge. Then turn left, we're at the bottom of the hill.

Rental Notes: Guests can have access from 4pm on the day of arrival and we need our guests to vacate the Watermill by 10am on the day of departure.
All prices are inclusive of house linen, bed linen and towels for use in the Watermill and B & B. (Pool towels are not included.)
Gas central heating is charged separatly dependent on usage.
We ask guests to leave the Watermill as clean as they find it. ( a cleaning service is available for 60 euros.)
Cot & High Chairs are available on request.
