La Grange - Delightful Two Bedroomed Gite with large pool
Cottage with 2 Bedrooms, Sleeps 6, Garden, Swimming Pool
Gîtes Haute-Garonne offers you a choice of two well-equipped gîtes and a large farmhouse, with various rental options, in the picturesque village of Latoue. We live on site and for consideration to everyone; we only rent two properties at any one time. We are situated midway between Aurignac and St Gaudens in the Haute-Garonne region of southern France.
Our 10 x 5 metre swimming pool with a large beach area on all four sides, is open between May and October. It is cleaned every day. The property is surrounded by spacious gardens in which guests are welcome to relax. There are a number of available seating areas situated around the gardens.
N.B. Our price includes all linen, bathroom & kitchen towels and also pool towels. A great saving on weight and space whether flying or travelling by car
The small sleepy village of Latoue is ideally situated midway between the Atlantic and the Mediterranean coasts, giving easy access to the historic cities of Toulouse, Carcassonne and Albi to the east; Lourdes, Pau and Biarritz to the west; the Pyrenees and Spain to the south; and the wine regions of Gaillac and Fronton to the north.
The nearest airport - served by Easyjet, British Airways and Air France plus others - is Toulouse, which is less than an hour's drive away. Two other airports - Pau and Carcassonne - also serve the area, they are both less than two hours' drive from Latoue.
The village of Latoue is located on the D8, midway between the market towns of Aurignac and St. Gaudens. It is approximately 12 miles from junction 21 of the A64 motorway. It is in the French 'département' of Haute-Garonne (31) and the local area, known as the Comminges, lies between the hills of Gascony and the striking mountains of the Pyrenees.
Latoue has a small bar, which is closed Monday to Wednesday, at the weekend Anna-Marie makes bread and cakes on the premises and can be bought from the bar. Latoue is served by a mobile baker most days, who has a good stock of bread, cakes, croissants, eggs, wine, etc, while all other daily requirements can be obtained either in Aulon, where there is a small supermarket and a post office, a 5 minute drive or in St Gaudens, a ten minute drive from Latoue. In St Gaudens you will find supermarkets, bakers, butchers, greengrocers, newsagents, pharmacy, banks, post office, hairdressers, bars and restaurants.
There are ample leisure facilities available locally. All year round there are festivals and fetes where you can experience the local life and culture at its most relaxed.
Latoue has its own lake, and fishing with a permit is possible at certain times of the year. Or, for the more adventurous, you might like to try your hand at canoeing, cycling or skiing.

Local activities in and around St Gaudens, Midi-Pyrenees
The surrounding area is ideal for walking, whether you are looking to take a leisurely stroll and simply admire the scenery, or go for a more energetic hike, there are many marked paths, and maps and guidebooks are also available. The climate is temperate, so is very well suited to outdoor pursuits. The winters tend to be dry, the summers hot, and both spring and autumn are mild, with no more than moderate rainfall. Gentle valleys and sheer mountains, peaceful lakes and abundant forests, medieval fortifications and Romanesque architecture are just some of the features you will discover between the Garonne and the Pyrenees.
Saunter as you please along the paths which crisscross fields and vineyards, follow the steep peaks and upper Pyrenean valleys, immerse yourself in town or village life or soak up the goodness of thermal spas. The inhabitants of the Haute-Garonne are extremely hospitable people and will be happy to reveal the secrets of their art of living.
Toulouse - the rose red city - has a compact historic centre packed with good things - architecture, museums, galleries, exhibitions, concerts, markets, shops and restaurants. So the best plan is to drive direct to an underground car park in the centre, and then walk. There are organised tourist taxis, and tour boats on the Canal du Midi. An alternative is to go in by train from nearby St Gaudens or Boussens.
Sports such as fishing, riding, canoeing and white-water rafting are all available depending on the season. In winter the ski stations, around an hour's drive from Latoue, cater for all levels of expertise, from beginner to expert, including cross-country skiing.
