The town of Pontassieve is less than 2 miles from the Villa. It is an attractive medieval village where you will find many shops, banks, markets, several very good restaurants, and a shopping center. There is frequent train service to the center of Florence. The train takes about 20 minutes and is an easy way to travel for those who do not wish to take their car into the city. It is easy to park at or close to the Pontassieve Station.
Near Villa Cafaggiolo there are many historic places to visit: The 11th century Benedictine Monastery at Rosano. The Vallombrosa Abbey with its surrounding forests. The Etruscan Village of Fiesole with its unforgettable views of Florence.
