Beck Side Lodge - Lakeland log cabin beside Trout Beck
Lodge with 2 Bedrooms, Sleeps 4
A comfortable, well-equipped, traditional pine lodge, with double doors leading to a large balcony directly over the beck, and with gorgeous views and direct access to the fells. Our programme of internal modernisation was completed last year. Our bathroom has been extended to include a bath and heated towel rail, the kitchen refitted to include a dish washer and built in appliances, the twin bedroom updated and the carpets replaced throughout by new Karndean flooring (except in bathroom). The log cabin is idyllically situated on Limefitt Park, one of the Lake District`s premier holiday parks, in the beautiful Troutbeck Valley near Lake Windermere. This peaceful, well-landscaped site nestles in trees below the fells to give superb opportunities for high and low level walking on both sides of the valley. A very wide range of other activities are available in Windermere and Ambleside, no more than 10mins away by car.
The comfortable lounge area opens onto a sunny 9ft balcony which overlooks the fast-flowing beck and a green field at the foot of the valley that rises to Wansfell. Behind the park paths climb to the ridge that leads to High Street (828m/2718ft) and the well-known Kentmere Round. Troutbeck is idyllically located 3 miles from Windermere and 6 miles from Ambleside, on the A591 road that leads to the Kirkstone Pass and is linked by a regular bus service that runs from Windermere Station to Patterdale (daily during peak season only).
Limefitt Park, registered by the Tourist Board and AA as a five star site, is a peaceful, medium sized, landscaped site. It was, from the 15th century until recently, a Lakeland sheep farm. The reception area is sited in the 14th century mill building and the hay barn has been converted into a comfortable inn. This well-maintained site also has a shop, launderette/ drying room with ironing facilities, and children`s play area and river pool. In winter some of these facilities may be closed but there are 2 excellent inns in Troutbeck open all year. For security the park gates are locked between 11.30 pm and 7.00 am. Do check out the glowing 2008 guest book comments at the bottom of the page. All can be read in the guest book in the log cabin!

Guestbook
"We enjoyed our stay in this cosy and clean lodge...the setting, over the beck, is quite splendid. We will certainly recommend Beck Side to our friends in Scotland." - Mr and Mrs A (Ayrshire - June 2008)
"The best holiday we have ever had. The log cabin is fantastic, really clean and tidy...the location was really good, we have seen so many beautiful sights. We have had a honeymoon to remember, many thanks for a great holiday." - Mr and Mrs O (Yorks - June 2008)
"Thank you for a lovely log cabin holiday! ...a very clean cabin, however, the weather hasn't been so good outside, at least it's nice and cosy inside. A fantastic location and with everything we need, we are already planning our next trip in the not too distant future. Thanks once again and we will definitely be recommending it to our friends and family." - Mr & Mrs B (Yorks - July 2008)
"Great log cabin in wonderful surrounds made even more scenic by the 6 inches of snow we woke to on the first morning. The cabin was lovely and warm for our 7 month little boy. We look forward to returning to Beck Side at some stage in the future." - Mr & Mr B (Sussex - March 2008)
"What a stunning location to spend a fortnight exploring the lakes!! The lodge has been so comfortable, cosy and beautifully clean on our arrival. We particularly enjoyed our evening meals and on the balcony watching the ducks and listening to the sheep and lambs baaing. All in all we had the most fantastic fortnight and will certainly recommend Beck Side Lodge to one and all back home. As we say at home "Proper job me'ansomes"." - Mr & Mrs B (Cornwall - May/June 2008)
"Very cold but cabin warm and cosy to come to! Fantastic scenery, fantastic cabin with everything you need for a great family holiday and wonderful walks. Can't wait to come back." - Mrs G (Kent - October 2008)
