| Mallorca, or Majorca as it is commonly known, is the largest of the Balearic Islands and has been a popular holiday destination for the last 30 years. Majorca boasts beautiful sandy beaches, rugged mountains, rolling plains along with a rich and varied cultural heritage. Originally a destination for artists and intellectuals, Mallorca has plenty to see away from its trademark beaches. High up winding mountain roads lay picturesque villages with ancient monasteries (Lluc), interesting museums and beautiful churches. You could visit the C18th Castillo de Bemdinat or the C16th fortress at the port of Telmo. You must visit the awesome cathedral at Palma. Alcudia its medieval and charming; older still is its Roman theatre. Hardly surprising then that it has become so popular with both the young and old alike. Situated on the west of Mallorca is the capital Palma with its pretty and bustling harbour. Below is a selection of holiday rentals and self-catering holiday accommodation: |
