| Sal Island is part of Cape Verde, which is situated very close to the West African coast of Senegal and is fast becoming a top tourist destination amongst holidaymakers. The year round warm climate, white sandy beaches and clear blue waters are just a few of the reasons why Sal has the largest number of tourists visiting within the group of islands.
Holidaymakers who fancy spending their day relaxing on the beach should visit Santa Maria beach which is the most visited whilst also being famous for its water sports such as diving, surfing and sailing. There are an abundance of bars and restaurants playing live Cape Verdian music and a good variety of shops and markets for holidaymakers to sample and visit during their stay. Those who love nature will enjoy the backdrop of mountains and hills whilst colourful sea life can also be found on the Island.
