The south east corner of Ireland includes Tipperary, Wexford and Waterford and has some spectacular river scenery running through it, with the rivers Suir and Blackwater. Renting a holiday cottage in Wexford or Waterford give you access to some of the finest beaches and coastal walks in Ireland.
There are self-catering cottages and holiday bungalows available in all regions – simply choose how many bedrooms you require and take your pick of locations. Cashel and its famous rock are one of Irelands better historical tourist attractions.
Wexford:
There are fabulous beaches here, noted for being long and sandy and safe for swimming. In the summer is it usual to find them patrolled by lifeguards. The long coastline is perfect for sea angling, walking and horse-riding. Golfing is available nearby. Wexford town offers great shopping and the yearly Opera Festival.
Waterford:
An unusual and informative half-day out is to visit the Waterford Crystal factory and watch the crystal-making process from start to finish. While you are in the town you can pause to admire the French Church where the Huguenots worshipped. Lismore has an interesting castle and is an ideal location from which to explore the Knockmealdown Mountains.
Tipperary:
There are parts of Tipperary where you can be out of sight of shops and towns and have nothing but the wind and the sheep for company. If you want a truly relaxing get-away-from-it-all break there are lovely holiday cottages in Tipperary in beautiful scenery with walking, riding and fishing all available.
