Holiday Rentals Shannon, Ireland- self-catering holiday cottages and accommodation
|

| |
The mighty River Shannon flows down from central Ireland through Limerick and out to the Atlantic on the west coast. The counties of Clare and Limerick are always linked with the moods of the river. Irelands other main airport (Shannon) is here and the name extends out to the shipping area off the coast. Inevitably the river is hugely important to sea and coarse fisherman and the angling industry is prominent in Shannon.
Be sure to take time to sit at the tops of the cliffs of Moher on a calm day. If you are lucky you will see pods of dolphin coming in close to the rocky shore. Try and visit the Caves of Aillwee and leave an afternoon for Ballyvaughan and Bunratty Castle.
Limerick is a city of historic contrasts with the medieval half and Georgian half kept in order by the presence of the Shannon as it passes gently under the three bridges. King John’s castle and St Mary’s cathedral are the highlights of any tour. There are many Lodges, holiday cottages and self-catering rentals available, which will cater to the needs of every individual holidaymaker.
